What is statin intolerance?
It's an inability to tolerate one or more statins at doses that would otherwise be effective. It is common and often manageable with a careful, structured educational framework such as rechallenge.
What is a rosuvastatin rechallenge?
An educational framework in which rosuvastatin is reintroduced starting at very low frequency (for example, once weekly) and slowly increased. Whether it's appropriate for any specific person is a clinical decision made by their own clinician.
What is ApoB and why does it matter?
ApoB is a protein on every atherogenic lipoprotein particle. It counts particle number, which many lipidologists consider a better cardiovascular risk marker than LDL cholesterol alone.
What is Lp(a)?
Lp(a) is a genetically determined lipoprotein. Elevated Lp(a) is an independent cardiovascular risk factor and is generally worth measuring once in a lifetime.
